Volvo V90 At A Glance

"If the XC90 is the sort of vehicle you might buy instead of a BMW X5 or Audi Q7, then the V90 is squarely positioned as an alternative to the BMW 5 Series or the Audi A6." (William Scholes).  The V90s somewhat curved lines is strikingly different from Volvos previous squareish figure.  Volvos intense attention to detail is very much shown in the delicate combinations of metal, woods, and leather giving the interior a feeling of absolute luxury.  Volvo has put a portrait oriented touchscreen display on the dashboard from which the climate, navigation, stereo, and other gadgets are controlled.  This gives the V90 a beautifully minimalist look on the inside.
One thing that Volvo is most known for are its high safety standards and the V90 is certainly no exception. Not only is the outer body extremely strong the Volvo V90 comes standard with a full armory of safety features. The City Safety setting detects animals, pedestrians, and cyclists and makes a noise if it is determined a crash is likely. The breaks automatically activate if the driver doesn't react quickly enough.  Volvo also gets semi autonomous with its "pilot assist" system.  the pilot assist works with the cruise control to keep the speed at a constant 80mph and the car in the lane. This system automatically deactivates when the drivers hands come off the wheel.  The headlights come standard with an active main beam function, this means the lights can automatically change range and direction depending on the speed, road, or oncoming traffic.
The V90 comes with a 2.0 liter 4 cylinder engine and a 8 speed transmission with front wheel drive, four wheel drive options.  The Cross Country model can come with a Supercharged 2.0 liter engine and is badged as a T6 and produces 316 hp.  The R design has a sportier suspension system, gloss black and silver trim as well as 18 inch diamond cut alloy wheels. The top of the line model is the inscription trim which has softer upholstery, and interior mood lighting.  Whichever V90 you choose, you can never go wrong.
